Star Traks: BorgSpace 2.0 - The Assimilated Generation

In the universe of Alan Decker's Star Traks (and its spinoffs), misfits of the Federation find themselves serving on the Secondprize, Explorer, and Banshee, or are shuffled off to Waystation at the edge of explored space. The Traks parodies follow the age-old tradition of military organizations to build omega squads and then fill them with square pegs and other inconveniences.

The Borg PR department would like all species to believe that the Borg are different...there is no such thing as an imperfect drone. The four thousand members of Exploratory-class Cube #347 would beg to differ. Forever sent on low-priority tasks, the imperfectly assimilated of the Borg empire weave their way through space, trying to become closer to the One...and failing miserably.

Announcing the conclusion of Season 9 and the BorgSpace series! Originally intended to be posted in January, this final story kept growing in size and complexity far past the BorgSpace author's intentions. However, what had to be, had to be; and rather than post a story of which she was unsatisfied in order to meet an arbitrary deadline, quality took precedence. After all, there were loose ends and plot arcs that have been floating around since Season 3 (and deliberately so) that required closure. And with that long-winded introduction, the BorgSpace author bring you *drum roll* Finis Coronat Opus. All the ingredients are gathered, but one...and that one is a doozy. If the challenge of infiltrating the Borg home system was not enough, a certain Color is also adding an additional layer of complexity to the situation. Oh, and you cannot forget those Directors and Critics and Auditors, oh my!

Let it be said that while this series is concluded (or is it?), BorgSpace itself will be continuing. The BorgSpace author needs a little hiatus in which to reflect upon things. And to focus on her upcoming summer work schedule. Regardless, the voices in the author's head refuse to be silenced, and be assured that there will be more BorgSpace in the future. Forthcoming projects include the long-promised game, a mini-series featuring that other imperfect sub-collective known as Lugger-class Cube #248, and the BorgSpace Project. Oh, and finally updating (completely) the BorgSpace section of the Star Traks wikipedia. Naturally, inquiry upon timelines is futile. Everything will happen as it happens.

As far as this webpage update, check around the site. There are a few odds and ends that have been added, such as a Season 9 quiz on the Interactive page and the zipped Season 9 archive. Of course, the astute will realize in other news that the BorgSpace Counter is still on the fritz. The BorgSpace author is slowly looking into it. Sort of. Maybe. One century.
